An award-winning San Diego area commercial General Contractor is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join their team. The Assistant Project Manager (APM) obtains, evaluates, coordinates, and distributes the information and authorizations necessary to construct projects on time, within budget, and to the specified quality. Responsibilities : Ensure that required documentation is filed Assist in creating and managing project budgets for all assigned projects Develop pre-construction RFP packages Assist in conducting project meetings Establish job processes (RFIs, submittals, and pay applications), including approving pay applications and negotiating subcontract change orders Update project schedules; ensure project quality control and establish overall project logistics Assist in managing the closeout process Collaborate with the project superintendent and site operations team throughout the project Qualifications : Four-year degree within construction, engineering, or business concentrations is strongly preferred 1+ years of experience in commercial construction, including experience with a commercial general contractor Passion for construction and the industry Strong ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and professionally, with a focus on audience-appropriate business writing and verbal skills Demonstrate a positive attitude and passion for construction Ability to gather data, interpret it into meaningful information, and relay it through clear communication strategies; understanding how processes fit into the bigger picture Organize and manage tasks and priorities effectively Adaptability and flexibility in a changing environment of technology, design, means, and methods Ability to collaborate with diverse backgrounds and styles Ability to create and maintain relationships with colleagues, clients, subcontractors, and vendors Benefits : Industry-leading compensation and benefits plan Lucrative bonus program Positive company culture and work/life balance If you are interested in this opportunity to grow within a long-established company, apply now or submit your resume to Kenna Warren at kenna.warrengogpac.
