Assistant Project Manager I - Engineering/Procurement/Construction

Position Summary The Assistant Project Manager I (APM I) plays a critical support role within the project management team, working closely with the Project Manager (PM) to ensure seamless project execution from development through completion. The APM I will coordinate activities across engineering, estimating, procurement, project controls, and construction, while actively managing deliverables, timelines, and stakeholder communication. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to multiple concurrent projects and gain broad exposure to various operational and project management disciplines. Key Responsibilities Support the Project Manager in coordinating project development and execution activities, including engineering, estimating, procurement, project controls, and construction. Assist in the development of comprehensive project schedules in collaboration with technical and field teams. Participate in value engineering and constructability reviews to optimize project outcomes. Collaborate with procurement teams to develop scopes of work, contracts, and schedule exhibits for subcontractors and vendors. Coordinate with Safety personnel on implementation of project-specific safety plans, incident reporting, and investigations. Contribute to monthly project status reports, schedule updates, and financial reviews for both internal and external stakeholders. Prepare and track Requests for Information (RFIs) using QISG’s document management system. Ensure high quality across technical, commercial, and administrative project deliverables through continuous review and feedback. Assist in the procurement and management of purchase orders and subcontract agreements. Monitor overall progress of design, procurement, and construction to ensure alignment with project goals. Support project close-out, warranty processes, and post-construction analysis, including cost reviews and lessons learned. May serve as acting Project Manager in the PM’s absence (when deemed qualified by the PM or Operations Director). Comply with company standards, policies, and procedures at all times. Qualifications Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field. Equivalent work experience or a combination of education and experience may be considered. 1+ years experience in a project management position. Solid understanding of the project design process and integrated EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) delivery, required. Skills & Competencies Strong initiative and ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team setting. Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Solid understanding of the project design process and integrated EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) delivery. Familiarity with construction methods and industry best practices. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with project management, scheduling, and estimating software preferred. Highly organized with strong time management and multitasking abilities.
