An established civil litigation law firm with offices in San Francisco, West Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and Napa Valley. We are seeking a civil litigation defense attorney to join our West Los Angeles office. The candidate must be a licensed California attorney looking to develop litigation experience in a dynamic, team-oriented, supportive, and enjoyable environment.
You will handle court appearances, pleading motions, discovery, depositions, mediations, pre-trial preparation, and trial. You will also be a key part of the client relationship.

You will have the flexibility to work remotely while also having access to an office environment in a great location in West Los Angeles at West Olympic and the 405.
The position includes a legal assistant for administrative support.  You will also be assigned an “onboarding buddy” and an attorney mentor.
You may generally work from home at your option, although we may ask that you work from the office at times. Typically, our attorneys share office space with a cohort based on a mutually agreeable schedule.

Benefits •      Billable Hours  - There is a reasonable minimum annual billable requirement of 1,860 hours. This equals a monthly minimum of 155 hours or a quarterly minimum of 465 hours.
•      Attorney Hours Bonus Program  – In brief, and subject to the additional terms contained in our written attorney hours bonus policy, we pay an annual bonus of $120 per hour billed and paid by our clients over our minimum billable hours requirement.  Although the bonus does not vest prior to the end of the calendar year, we endeavor to pre-pay it on a quarterly basis if you are otherwise on track to reach the annual minimum billable hours requirement.
•     A nnual Review  - This position is subject to an annual job performance and salary review towards the end of each year.  [Salary review may not take place until following year depending on whether we offer high end of range.]
Medical Insurance and Vision Insurance  - The firm’s medical programs include Aetna Open Access, Aetna HMO, Kaiser HMO and health savings plan options.  All are administered by ADP TotalSource (ADP).  The firm currently pays 100% of the medical insurance premiums, except for a modest monthly charge for the Aetna Open Access option. Enrollment must be submitted before your 30th day of employment.  The effective date of the coverage plan you choose will be the first day of the following month.  (An exception exists if your date of hire is the first of the month.  In that case, your date of hire will be the effective date of your coverage.)  If you choose to add dependents, the firm does not cover them, but you are able to pay their premiums from payroll with pre-tax dollars.   Please let me know if you would like further information about the specifics of the plans.
Dental  – The firm provides $1,000.00 per year for dental expense reimbursement.  This is self-funded.
IRS 125 Cafeteria Plans  – The firm provides four Cafeteria Plans pursuant to the regulations of section 125 of the Internal Revenue Code. These plans provide participants an opportunity to receive certain benefits on a pretax basis. These plans are administered by ADP, our payroll service.
401k Plan - After six months employment, employees are eligible to participate in the firm’s 401k plan.  When all conditions are met, the firm will match and contribute to your account up to 4% of your salary each year.
Life and Disability Insurance – These options are administered by ADP according to plan terms.  Please see the attached summary of ADP benefits.
Paid Time Off - The firm does not have a restriction on the amount of paid time off an Associate Attorney may take each year, but this is subject to our Paid Time Off for Attorneys Policy which includes a requirement that you are on track to meet your minimum billable hours requirement.
Sick Pay  – The firm follows all applicable state and local policies and has adopted the Statuary Accrual Method for sick pay. Under this accrual method, an eligible employee earns one hour of sick pay for every 30 hours worked. The accrual begins on the employee’s first day of work.
Holiday Policy  - For full-time employees, the firm provides approximately thirteen paid holidays, including the day after Thanksgiving.  In addition, we provide Thanksgiving Eve, New Year's Eve and Christmas Eve half-day holidays. Attached is the holiday schedule for 2025.
