Our North County San Diego-based client is in immediate need of a qualified and dedicated Project Manager (PM) with extensive experience in the Life Sciences construction sector. Our client is a highly successful General Contractor known for its excellent service in Commercial Construction, Life Sciences , Mission Critical, Higher Education, and more. Ideal candidates are organized, self-motivated, and strong communicators.
Duties & Responsibilities Support existing team with necessary tasks Prepare project schedules Review project drawings and specifications Coordinate with the project development team on architecture, interior design, and construction specifications Develop construction estimates Review budgets and meet financial targets Conduct project kick-off meetings with VP of Construction and project team Coordinate materials procurement through suppliers Monitor expenditures, identify variances, and implement corrective actions Ensure projects are completed on time and within scope Make decisions regarding project cost, schedule, methods, and performance Oversee contract administration, job cost tracking, billing, change orders, claims, and project closeout Participate in project management meetings to review performance
Qualifications & Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Building Construction Management Minimum 10 years of experience managing commercial construction projects Proven experience as a Project Manager in the Life Sciences sector Experience managing 4-5 projects simultaneously, ranging from $4.5M to $20M Experience in technology, biotech, or healthcare projects Knowledge of codes and general construction methods Ability to read and interpret contracts Experience in writing detailed scopes of work Proficiency in Excel, Word, and estimating software Ability to collaborate with accounting to produce accurate reports Excellent management, communication, and negotiation skills Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment Strong organizational and time management skills Effective communication and instruction skills Capable of managing multiple priorities and adapting to complex situations Professional appearance and demeanor What our client is offering: Competitive compensation package Comprehensive benefits (medical, dental, vehicle or allowance, phone, computer, 401k + match) Bonus opportunities (15–20% targeted)
