The Company:
RJB Contracting is an established commercial contracting company that provides all phases of construction services to a select group of core clients. Our contracting services focus on commercial retail construction and painting projects. We are looking to add to our existing team with people who thrive working as a team in a fast-paced growing organization.
The Role:
The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the successful completion of projects. This includes managing relevant employees, setting deadlines, communication with company executives about the state of the project, ensuring projects stay on track on budget, and adjusting, if necessary, to meet new requirements.
The key responsibilities of a Project Manager include, but are not limited to:
Manage pre-construction activities (Estimating, Operations Plan, Scheduling) to minimize risk for new projects.
Responsible for bidding, scope review, and awards of subcontracts.
Review subcontracts, Purchase Orders and change orders to assure accuracy.
Applying knowledge of construction cost, scheduling, estimating, and engineering principles and techniques, as well as accounting principles, construction methods and materials, their characteristics, installation procedures, and tolerances.
Read and interpret documents such as blueprints, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Write routine reports and correspondence.
Speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
Lead the change order process (subcontractors and owners).
Perform all required QA/QC duties and responsibilities.

The Ideal candidate:
_Minimum of 5-7 years related experience_ or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
Thorough knowledge of construction cost, estimating, purchasing, construction principles/techniques as well as accounting principles.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, write routine reports and correspondence, and speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
ProCore/CMIC or relevant construction software experience.
May have overnight travel when multiple projects are being managed simultaneously.
Must be available on-call early/late hours to deal with project emergencies.
To successfully perform this position a bachelor's degree in construction science, construction management, engineering, or architecture is preferred. Work experience can be substituted for a degree if you have relevant experience.
