This role provides leadership and oversight of the commercial credit analyst team. They also bring a high level of expertise in understanding commercial credit and assessing risk, serving as a resource to the credit analyst team as well as the commercial lenders in structuring and analyzing commercial loan relationships. They establish procedures for the team and provide guidance on systems and resources used for completing effective and relevant credit analysis. They also support the risk management function by ensuring that department and regulatory reporting is effective and accurate.
Salary Range & Benefits:
$110k-$140k base salary plus up to 15% annual target bonus. The estimated hiring range is the budgeted amount for this position. Roles & Responsibilities: Manage the Commercial Credit team to ensure timely and accurate completion of the analysis, underwriting, approval documentation and periodic reviews of commercial loan files Interviewing, hiring, and provide training to employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems Plan and coordinate training, providing mentoring in order to continuously develop the team’s skills and abilities including those functions detailed below Identify and address short-term planning needs, providing insight to leadership for long-term planning Review credit analyst new credit presentations and annual reviews prior to submitting for final approval Approve new loans, annual reviews and exceptions within granted authority (up to $1 Million) Ensure that property appraisals and appraisal reviews effectively assess collateral values; on occasion may provide valuation or review analysis Assist in collection of information for annual review preparation to support prudent loan portfolio management and ensuring compliance with NCUA guidelines Provide subject-matter expertise and department representation to organizational projects and/or initiatives Develop reports to identify credit risk changes in the loan portfolio and according to established policies and procedures Coordinate site visits with prospects or members at property or business location to assess ongoing business and/or property cash flow generation capability Participate in organizational initiatives such as M&A due diligence and integration, regulatory exams and third-party audits Performs other duties as assigned
Required Skills & Experience: College degree preferred or equivalent work experience as demonstrated by increased levels of accountability, knowledge required 5+ years of commercial and/or commercial real estate lending underwriting experience required 1+ years of experience in formal people leadership is strongly preferred Experienced and proficient in the use of financial spreading and analysis software such as nCino, Fiscal, Baker Hill, or similar Experienced and proficient with commercial lending and real estate regulations and best practices Experienced and proficient in Microsoft Office products including: Excel, Word and PowerPoint Excellent oral and written communication skills Strategic Mindset: Track record of seeing ahead to future possibilities and translating them into breakthrough strategies Ensures Accountability: Known for holding self and others accountable to meet commitments Drives Engagement: Proven ability to create a climate where people are motivated to do their best to help the organization achieve its objectives Instills Trust: Demonstrated ability to gain the confidence and trust of others through honesty, integrity, and authenticity Bondable
