A Sr. Project Engineer / Assistant Project Manager is needed for a leading Construction Organization. in Fort Wayne, IN. This role plays a critical part in delivering large-scale construction projects from preconstruction through closeout, with responsibilities spanning contract execution, trade coordination, and project leadership.
The ideal candidate will bring 3+ years of construction experience or a bachelor's degree in a construction or engineering-related field. Effective communication, time management, and collaboration skills are essential. This individual must be capable of managing technical details while also supporting field execution, budget tracking, and schedule adherence.

responsibilities:
- Lead onsite execution of contract requirements and manage trade contractors from design through installation
- Support project budgeting through cost projections, billing, invoice review, and change order management
- Collaborate closely with field teams to support schedule, safety, and quality goals
- Track and validate subcontractor pay applications and proactively resolve field issues
- Read and interpret construction design documents and specifications
- Provide mentorship and leadership to junior team members, exemplifying company culture
