Construction Control Representative The Construction Control Representative position is located in Engineering Service with VA Boston Healthcare System. This position is located at the Brockton, MA campus. This position is full-time at 40 hours per week. Duties This is an OPEN CONTINUOUS ANNOUNCEMENT and will remain open until September 30, 2025. The initial cut-off date for referral of eligible applications will be July 1, 2025. Eligible applications received after the initial cut-off date will be referred as additional vacancies occur on an as-needed basis until positions are filled. Duties include but not limited to:
Prepares documentation and sketches of contract changes, estimates of costs for modifications, materials, and equipment.
Assures that all work under contract provisions has been completed and that no deficiencies exist that would preclude recommending final payment to the contractor.
Knowledge of common contractual requirements, terms, conditions, plans, and specifications.
Furnishes all reports and data required for transfer upon completion of construction.
Participates in design review conferences, reviews preliminary plans and specifications prior to advertisement for practicability.
The employee uses a variety of guidelines, manuals, and standard reference materials.
Provides oversight of construction operations using established methods.
Using judgment and initiative reviews specification packages, design drawings, and independent government cost estimates for bid ability and constructability.
Reviews correspondence and reports on construction status and progress, tests, administration, end contractor's estimates relative to construction of the project and unanticipated contingencies.
Confers with co-workers on problems of control, administration, and safety and makes decisions to address specific problems.
Updates as-built drawings and other project records, asset databases, etc.
Other duties assigned.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Telework: Authorized - Ad-Hoc work can be performed on an as needed basis anywhere other than a VA facility or using VA-leased space (example: home). Virtual: Not virtual

Qualifications To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement 09/30/2025. Individual Occupational Requirements Specialized Experience - one (1) year of specialized experience that equipped you with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of this position, and that is typically in or related to the work of this position. There is no educational substitution for the GS-11 level. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs and other organizations.
