PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES for Senior Construction Accountant OR Construction Controller:  Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.  Oversees the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards.  Produces the annual budget and forecasts; reports significant budget differences to management.   Oversee the timely and accurate preparation accounts receivable progress billings based upon specific contract terms.   Supervise the payment process to vendors and subcontractors and confirm lien waivers are properly collected.  Mentoring direct reports to grow in their roles & responsibilities as the company continues to grow  Perform special assignments as directed by the Ownership and Advisory Board Financial Reporting  Preparation and review of monthly financial statements for R&O and affiliated entities. Review financial statements with ownership  Preparation of construction contract schedules.  Oversee the monthly job cost report process with the President and project managers for use in creating and updating contract schedules and updated work in progress reports for internal and external use.  As needed, meet with the company’s bankers and bonding company to review financial results and forecasts.  Occasionally provides financial analysis with emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.  Works with external auditors and provides needed information for the annual audit.  Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements (insurance audits, claims, renewals, etc.)  Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Management desired 10 yeras Experience working as a Senior Construction Accountant or Controller (ideally in construction industry or related) Advanced computer skills with construction accounting experience (required) Effective presentation, management and supervisory skills with experience in acquisitions Advanced Computer skills with MS Office or similar software with experience in mergers Prior knowledge and experience with American Institue of Architects (AIA) software (a plus) Understand all aspects of accounting and tax preparation along with software, need someone who can create, track, and hold people accountable to KPIs Please contact Bobby Gournoe directly for more information regarding this opportunity or any other positions you may be interested in.
