With a strong reputation for delivering high-quality projects on time and on budget, we're seeking a hands-on Construction Controller to lead our accounting and finance operations from our headquarters. Position Overview: The Construction Controller will oversee the full cycle of accounting operations with a specific focus on project accounting, job costing, WIP schedules, and financial controls. This is a key leadership role responsible for maintaining the financial health of the business while supporting project managers, ownership, and the executive team. Key Responsibilities: Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including GL, AR/AP, payroll, and bank reconciliations.

Oversee construction-specific financial processes such as job costing, WIP reporting, contract billing, and retainage tracking.

Prepare monthly and annual financial statements and project performance reports.

Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning in coordination with executive leadership.

Ensure compliance with GAAP and construction industry regulations.

Maintain and improve internal controls and accounting procedures.

Manage year-end audits and work with external accountants and tax professionals.

Supervise and mentor accounting staff.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).

7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a construction-specific accounting or controller role.

Strong knowledge of construction accounting, including percentage-of-completion, WIP reporting, and job cost tracking.

Experience with construction accounting software (e.g., Viewpoint, Sage 300 CRE, Foundation, or similar).

Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.

Ability to work 100% in-office at our Indianapolis, IN headquarters.
