Job Overview
Wagner Construction, Inc. is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Construction Equipment Manager to oversee equipment operations across multiple heavy civil construction sites throughout Texas. This dynamic position is responsible for supervising field mechanics, managing equipment logistics and maintenance schedules, and ensuring compliance with DOT and safety regulations. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with excellent communication skills and a strong background in heavy equipment maintenance and tracking systems.

Key Responsibilities-
Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of field mechanics and equipment logistics staff.-
Develop and maintain an Equipment Matrix to track equipment deployment, start dates, utilization milestones, and availability.-
Build and manage relationships with local vendors for parts, service, and consumables (, filters, tires, oil, spill kits).-
Oversee preventive maintenance schedules, equipment repairs, and fleet transfers to and from project sites.-
Manage maintenance budgets, including forecasting repair costs and rental needs.-
Attend daily Plan of the Day (POD) meetings to report on equipment status and coordinate with project teams.-
Ensure DOT compliance for vehicles, including medical cards, decals, cab cards, and logbooks.-
Conduct monthly 'vehicle rodeos' to verify driver assignments, documentation, and cleanliness standards.-
Use digital systems such as TENNA for tracking maintenance, work orders, inspections, and fluid analysis.-
Distribute and verify daily inspection logs for each piece of equipment; ensure complete data submission.-
Coordinate all equipment transfers or returns, including documentation and safety checks.
Qualifications-
High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework or mechanical certifications preferred.-
Minimum 3 years of experience in heavy equipment or construction operations; supervisory experience a plus.-
Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, schematics, and equipment troubleshooting.-
Familiarity with equipment tracking platforms (, TENNA), Microsoft Excel, and OEM manuals.-
Excellent planning, communication, and problem-solving skills.-
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel up to 100% across Texas-based job sites.
