Job Details
Job Title: Electrical Estimator Job Summary: The Electrical Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and timely cost estimates for electrical construction projects—from initial bid preparation through project closeout documentation. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical systems, construction processes, and estimation best practices.
Minimum Qualifications: Knowledge of electrical construction and theory typically acquired through a formal electrical training program, a two-year technical/business degree, or equivalent experience
Proficiency with construction estimating software and tools
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Key Skills & Competencies: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
Proven ability to develop conceptual estimates and perform detailed financial analysis
Strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality
Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines
Primary Responsibilities: Perform quantity takeoffs and enter data into estimating software
Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes
Analyze material pricing and incorporate current cost data
Review and estimate addenda as needed
Participate in site walks and pre-bid meetings
Analyze bid and construction schedules
Draft and submit proposal documents to clients
Conduct post-bid closeout procedures
Participate in weekly estimating team meetings
Perform additional duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications: Background in electrical construction or a degree in construction management
Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical estimating
