Staffmark is hiring a skilled and detail-oriented Construction Estimator to support one of our trusted partners. This role plays a key part in project planning by producing accurate cost estimates, coordinating with vendors and subcontractors, and ensuring bid deadlines are met. Pay Range: $40,000 - $75,000/year (based on experience)
Schedule: Monday - Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Responsibilities:
Review architectural plans and project specifications to determine the scope of work Prepare detailed cost estimates, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services Conduct quantity takeoffs using digital tools or manual methods Obtain and evaluate bids from vendors and subcontractors Assemble and submit competitive bid proposals within tight timelines Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to clarify requirements Support value engineering and cost optimization efforts Maintain cost history databases and pricing libraries Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as needed Assist with project handoff to operations teams Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (preferred) 3+ years of experience in construction estimating Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and pricing Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., PlanSwift, Bluebeam, Sage Estimating, or ProEst) Excellent attention to detail and time management skills Strong communication and negotiation abilities Experience with commercial, residential, or industrial projects Understanding of local building codes and regulations Occasional travel to job sites required
