We are seeking a skilled Construction Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in construction estimating, project management, and cost control. If you have a keen eye for detail and a passion for delivering accurate estimates, we want to hear from you.
Responsibilities:
Cost Estimation: Analyze project specifications, blueprints, and other documentation to prepare accurate cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.
Quantity Takeoffs: Perform quantity takeoffs from drawings and specifications to determine the quantities of materials required for each project component.
Vendor and Subcontractor Coordination: Solicit and evaluate quotes from vendors and subcontractors, negotiating prices to ensure competitive bids while maintaining quality standards.
Cost Analysis: Conduct thorough cost analysis to identify potential cost-saving opportunities and value engineering options.
Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in developing project budgets and forecasts based on estimated costs and project timelines.
Risk Assessment: Identify and assess project risks and uncertainties that may impact cost estimates, proposing mitigation strategies as needed.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all estimates, bids, and related correspondence in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Communication: Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to clarify project requirements, resolve discrepancies, and ensure alignment throughout the estimating process.
Continuous Improvement: Stay informed about industry trends, material costs, and construction methodologies to continuously improve estimating accuracy and efficiency.
Adherence to Standards: Ensure compliance with company standards, industry best practices, and relevant regulations in all estimating activities.

Technical Certification Bonus: Synectics is pleased to award its employees a bonus of up to $500 for an approved professional certification. In determining the bonus amount, Synectics will consider the cost of the test(s) for any certification relating to your current position, achieved during your employment with us. Only one Certification Bonus per calendar year may be awarded per employee. Only current, active employees will be eligible to receive this bonus. It will be awarded 90 days after the Synectics office has received documentation confirming the successful completion of the certification.
