START DATE & WORK SCHEDULE:
ASAP
7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday- Friday with some Saturdays and Overtime.
Examples of Duties
BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs engineering tasks such as inspections of public works projects including: storm drain, sewer, water main, utility, sidewalk, driveway and road construction, assists with surveying, collects data for traffic studies with some latitude for independent judgment, and assists with snow plowing as needed. Ability to communicate effectively with others both orally and in writing.
Typical Qualifications
EDUCATION:
Applicant must be a high school graduate or equivalent. Associate's degree in construction technology, or related field preferred or a combination of education and/or experience.
PREVIOUS WORK EXPERIENCE:
Several years of experience inspecting civil construction projects, with some experience in MDOT funded projects, preferred.
Supplemental Information
SPECIAL SKILLS & TRAINING:
Familiarity with MDOT Field Manager. Able to use computers in the field. Some math ability for technical reports. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Must have a valid Michigan Operator's license.
