Essential Functions and Objectives:

As a Construction Pathways Instructor, you will empower high school students through hands-on, real-world experiences that develop the skills, confidence, and career readiness they need to succeed in life beyond the classroom. This is a full time position with option for school calendar, 4 day a week or other flexibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspire and teach students through classroom instruction, project-based learning, and skill-based training in construction-related fields.
Guide students through essential concepts such as blueprint reading, structural design, framing, plumbing, electrical, mechanical systems, welding, masonry, and an introduction to heavy equipment.
Partner with local industry professionals to provide mentorship and pathways to college and into industry careers.
Lead the construction of a student-built tiny home, giving students a tangible, collaborative project that demonstrates their growth and capabilities.

Duties and Responsibilities: Deliver engaging instruction using the NCCER Core curriculum and facilitate OSHA 10 Construction safety training. (Training and certification will be provided.)
Set clear learning objectives and evaluate student progress through assessments, projects, and classroom participation.
Adapt teaching methods and integrate technology to support diverse learning styles and ensure student understanding.
Encourage student growth by supporting career exploration, goal setting, and workforce readiness.
Ensure a safe, respectful, and organized learning environment in both classroom and hands-on settings. Oversee use of shop equipment, including ordering and inventory tracking, ensuring proper safety and functionality.
Act as an advisor to student organizations and leadership activities, promoting student engagement and pride in their work.
Collaborate with local industry partners to provide mentorship & guest instruction.
Provide input into the program budget, including materials, supplies, and equipment needs.
Maintain communication with parents & school counselors to support student success.
Support program growth and quality by collaborating with the Career Academy Director on new initiatives and events.
Availability for occasional evening or weekend events related to program activities, competitions, or community engagement.
Perform additional duties as assigned by the Academy Director.
Desired Background & Skills: Minimum of 2 years teaching, and/or hands-on industry experience in the construction field.
Enjoys working with high school-aged students and committed to fostering their growth, confidence, and career readiness
Broad knowledge of construction industry tools, techniques & best practices
Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision; highly organized and capable of managing multiple priorities
High attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate challenging situations with a calm, solution-focused presence
Proven ability to collaborate effectively within a multi-disciplinary team environment.
Strong time management, planning, and organizational skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
