Schutte Excavating, Inc. is located in Greensburg, IN. Our company has been steadily growing and is looking to expand our workforce. Schutte Excavating’s focus is on Community Development Block Grant Projects, Storm Sewer Projects, General Construction Management, Concrete Construction, Site Development. We travel within a 60-mile radius of Greensburg. Current position we are looking to fill is general laborer(s). This position would encompass unskilled manual work with a willingness to learn, rough carpentry & concrete work. Dependability is crucial to this position.
A construction laborer is responsible for performing tasks involving physical labor on construction sites. The ability to operate hand and power tools of all types, and may be required to clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, set braces to support the sides of excavations and clean up rubble, debris, and other waste materials. Additional responsibility could include assisting in the installation of structures and site features. Other duties may include loading and unloading materials and providing assistance to craft workers.
The physical demands of the job may require the ability to lift heavy objects (25+ lbs), stand for long periods of time, and work in a variety of weather conditions.
Construction laborers should have the ability to work well in a team. Also, should have a strong work ethic and the ability to follow instructions.
Required to hold a valid driver's license.

FAQs
- What is the typical schedule? Monday - Friday; 7:30 - 4:00 (start and end times may need to vary at times)
- What are some of the specific projects you do? We do commercial projects like laying sewer and sanitary pipes, running water lines, and lots of concrete work (sidewalks, curbs, roads, and decorative). We also move dirt and use GPS for grading.
- What do you do in the winter? We can still pour concrete in the winter and there is plenty to do around the shop to keep people busy on slow days. We also use this time to train and develop.
