Construction Laborer The technician will support remediation work involving various construction tasks. This includes clearing and grubbing, installing erosion control materials, soil excavation, grading, dewatering, backfilling, truck scaling, equipment decontamination, and restoration efforts. The technician will assist in spotting equipment operators, performing torch cutting on steel, and completing general labor tasks on the work site, such as carrying materials, dirt work, and shoveling material. Support remediation work including construction tasks such as clearing, grubbing, and soil excavation. Install erosion control materials and perform grading, dewatering, and backfilling. Assist with truck scaling and equipment decontamination. Engage in restoration efforts and support equipment operators. Conduct torch cutting on steel and perform general labor tasks like carrying materials, dirt work, and shoveling. Previous construction/civil experience working outside moving dirt. Ability to lift 75 lbs independently. Willingness to travel 75% of the time, with the possibility of being home on weekends. Operator experience with heavy equipment such as excavators and dozers. Operating experience after full-time employment. 40 Hour Hazwoper certification (not required for this project). Environmental experience. This position involves outdoor construction work, exposed to varying weather conditions including extreme heat and potential cool weather. The environment is dirty and requires experience in similar settings. The dress code includes steel toe boots, jeans without holes, and shirts with sleeves. Work hours are typically Monday through Friday, starting between 5-7 am, with 10-12 hour days. There is potential for Saturday work, with weekly hours ranging from 50-60+, including 5-20 overtime hours. During winter, expect 5-10 overtime hours per week. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Indianapolis, Indiana. The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
