The firm is looking for someone who is technically proficient, with experience handling large-scale document management and electronic discovery. This role offers an exciting opportunity to support complex construction-related legal matters in a dynamic, growing environment. Location: Chicago, IL Duties: Provide legal support in commercial construction litigation, including claims related to delays, impacts, and mechanics liens. Handle construction surety bond claims and manage insurance coverage issues pertaining to construction disputes. Draft and negotiate construction agreements, design contracts, and manage construction defect claims. Represent design professionals in legal matters, ensuring compliance and risk mitigation. Engage in all aspects of discovery, focusing on managing large datasets and electronic documents. Take depositions and participate in pretrial procedures, providing legal advice and strategic insights. Prepare and draft legal documents, including motions, pleadings, and briefs. Collaborate with senior attorneys and clients on case strategy and resolution. Requirements: Minimum of 2 years of business litigation experience, with exposure to construction law. Strong technical or engineering background preferred. Proficiency in electronic discovery and managing large volumes of case data. Experience with commercial construction litigation, including delay claims, lien claims, and defect claims. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be licensed to practice law in Illinois. Strong academic credentials and keen attention to detail. Education: Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
