Functions in our group include safety, project field management, construction management, quality control, start up and decommissioning and field engineering.
Construction Manager with a technical background in water and wastewater infrastructure projects delivered through traditional design-bid-build and collaborative design-build and CMAR models. The construction manager will be responsible for leading projects through bidding and/or Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) phase as well as construction and start-up phases. They will need to be skilled in office and field services during construction. They will also be expected to manage field inspection staff and assist with client management activities to support BV's Water/Wastewater teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and execute work on water and wastewater utilities construction projects to verify the project is constructed in accordance with approved plans, specifications, submittals.
- Projects may include water distribution and treatment, wastewater collection and treatment, pipeline and pump station rehabilitation.
- Work with Contractor's and/or Design-Builder's team to deliver projects on time and on budget. Utilize internal project management tools and resources.
- Present information to Clients through effective oral and written communication.
- Communicate effectively and coordinate with project teams including other disciplines (subject matter experts, cost estimators, GIS, designers, and other engineers and construction professionals).
- Review and analyze engineering data and reports.
- Lead construction administration phase of projects including submittal reviews, requests for information, correspondence, change requests, pay application processing, GMP review, direction/supervision of inspection staff, and review of change orders.
- Responsible for leading dispute resolution efforts during construction phase.
- Assist project management team in preparation of client fee proposals as necessary.
- Responsible for performing constructability reviews of project design and leading projects during their construction phase.
- Will involve performing field inspections on an as-needed basis.

Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in construction, engineering or heavy industrial experience preferred, or relevant experience.
- Approximately 4-8 years Construction Supervisory experience.
- PE and/or CCM.
- Construction Project Management Information Systems knowledge (PMIS).
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in construction, engineering, or related field preferred, or relevant field experience.
- 5+ years construction supervisory experience required.
- OSHA Training
- All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.

Work Environment/Physical Demands
Physical Demands: Lift and carry heavy items weighing up to 50 pounds. Stand, Kneel, Bend, Stoop, Move, and Walk long distances in and around confined, cluttered places, and uneven areas. See and hear naturally or with correction. Full range of motion and flexibility consistent with requirements of the job duties. Requires using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls according to a set procedure. Requires repetitive movement. May require work above 5 feet in height. Climb and maintain balance on steel framework, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds. Work up to a 12 hour shift doing hard physical labor in varying temperature extremes and other outside conditions.
Work Environment: Typical construction site environment: Requires working in cramped work spaces and getting into awkward positions. Requires working in very hot (above 90 F degrees) or very cold (below 32F degrees) temperatures and exposure to inclement weather such as dust, wind, snow, rain, etc. Requires working in extremely bright or low lighting conditions Includes exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable. Work around hazardous equipment. Typical office environment. This position is considered a safety sensitive position.
