Wendel is seeking a dynamic, highly motivated Construction Manager professional to join our Construction Management team in our Long Island Office in Hauppauge NY.
Responsibilities:
Provide key project leadership on multiple construction projects from inception to completion to meet scope, schedule, quality and budget expectations. These construction projects will be primarily focused on mechanical, electrical/lighting and controls improvements. Act as a project leader on a day-to-day basis including developing relationships in the field with subcontractors, facility personnel, and clients. Understanding and interpreting their needs and providing a high level of client service, timely solutions to problems, and responsiveness. Onsite construction activities including safety coordination and oversight, oversee construction trades and vendors to ensure projects are completed within time and budgetary constraints. Review and supervise construction projects for adherence to plans, drawings and specifications. Coordinate RFIs and RFP's/CO/'s from construction trades. Run construction meetings and develop meetings minutes. Complete Daily Reports. Tracking material inventory and assistance with Procurement of both material and labor. Provide guidance, training and mentorship in the field to Wendel's Construction team. Communicate clearly with subcontractors and project design and construction teams in a way that is easily understood using a combination of exceptional verbal and written communication styles. Identify the critical path to project closeouts to successfully close projects on schedule and budget. Qualifications: Bachelor of Science Degree preferred but not required. Multi-discipline design and construction management is preferred and PMP a plus. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with an emphasis on Excel. Minimum of 6 - 14 years of experience in project and construction management, engineering, architecture or related field. With an emphasis on managing multiple lighting implementation projects and related tasks such as inventory tracking, generating punch list items, managing construction schedules and timely order of material. Candidate must have a valid driver's license, reliable transportation and be available to travel for work. Must have excellent communication skills and be a team player. Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task. Have a positive attitude. Be dependable, collaborative, and flexible. Have leadership abilities. Salary Range: $75,000 - $132,000
Wendel is committed to providing fair, competitive, and market-informed compensation. The salary offered will be determined based on the successful candidates' relevant education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. The salary offered will also take into consideration regional adjustment factors.
