We are seeking an experienced CONSTRUCTION MANAGER for a full-time position located in Austin, Texas for an ongoing aviation construction project.
We are currently seeking a Construction Manager with airport facilities experience incorporating new facility construction and renovation of existing facilities. Candidate should have 4 to 6 years' experience and a wide of experience from managing large complex new build projects, taxiways, parking garages and building automation systems and coordinate with QA/QC consultants.
Candidates must also be capable of passing background screening for Airport Operations Area (AOA) badging and must be capable of obtaining AOA vehicle movement certification.

The Construction Manager is responsible for construction administration and for coordination of day-to-day field operations of the assigned project(s), in partnership with the Program/Project Manager(s) and Client. The Construction Manager is responsible for coordinating with the team including, but not limited to owners, contractors, A/Es, stakeholders, and other agencies. The Construction Manager ensures all work is in full accordance with the Contract Documents. The Construction Manager may be responsible for performing constructability reviews, value engineering, change management, inspections, testing, and reviewing non-compliant work, pay estimates, change orders, submittals, shop drawings, RFIs, and schedules.
Responsibilities/Tasks:
Oversee and coordinate with the field team that may include inspectors, construction coordinators, and other support staff.
Perform and assist with coordinating inspections, observations and testing of all construction activities.
Assist in resolving construction issues impacting cost and schedule.
Oversee the Quality Assurance Plan, ensuring all preparatory meetings are held prior to beginning major items of work.
Coordinate all required inspections with agency inspectors and third-party testing labs.
Act as the liaison between contractors and stakeholders.
Assist and coordination with the Program/Project Mangers and other agency departments, as required.
Review Contractor’s Quality Control Plan and ensure Quality Control Plan is followed.
Attend, participate in and/or facilitate project related meetings, including but not limited to design meetings, mockup reviews, OAC meetings, utility coordination meetings, stakeholder meetings, preconstruction meetings, etc.
Review contractor’s baseline schedule and monthly schedule updates. Reviews logic relationship integrity, review recovery plans as needed, and review time impact analysis, as needed.
Assist in the review and negotiations of the Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP).
Coordinate with environmental agencies to monitor compliance with environmental requirements.
Oversee construction monitoring and review daily reports for accuracy and compliance.
Provide input on submittals, shop drawings, RFIs, change orders and pay estimates.
Participate in project closeout activities.
Performs most assignments independently but consults with others and receives technical guidance when needed.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Construction Management, Architecture and/or Engineering, or a related field.
Certified Construction Manager designation highly .
4-6 years of experience as a Construction Manager on aviation projects
Experience with providing constructability review comments.
Intermediate Level Procore Experience required.
Experience with large scale vertical commercial construction projects.
Experience managing commercial construction projects that are $100M or larger in size.
Must be capable of passing background screening for Airport Operations Area (AOA) badging.
Must be capable of obtaining AOA vehicle movement certification.
Good communication skills.
Able to work in a team environment.
Proactive thinker, being able to foresee construction problems and concerns before they occur.
Work Environment:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving machinery & mechanical parts, uneven ground, exposure to dust, gas or fumes, exposure to loud noise, and outside weather conditions.
Physical Requirements:
The physical requirements must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Intermittent unassisted sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, stooping, crawling, pushing and lifting is required. Must be able to walk and/or stand for prolonged periods of time for at least eight hours per day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move light equipment up to 50 pounds without assistance. Must be alert to equipment in the field, occasional need to work near hazardous equipment and machinery, ability to walk on uneven ground while physically maneuvering construction sites, ability to work in extreme temperatures or humidity, and potentially work at heights.
Other Requirements:
Possession of a valid state of residence driver's license with a clean driving record.
Daily travel to and from construction sites, generally within 100 miles from the home office is expected. Short term, out of town, assignments may be required. Long term, out of town, assignments may be required, with advance notice of planned dates.
May be required to work protracted and irregular hours to meet client's needs, including nights, overtime and weekends.
