About the Role

Are you a seasoned construction professional ready to lead complex industrial projects? We're seeking a Construction Manager to oversee the installation, refurbishment, and modernization of rack-and-pinion industrial elevator systems across industrial job sites.

This hands-on field leadership role blends construction management, union workforce oversight, and client coordination. You'll ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and to the highest technical standards — all while building strong relationships with field crews and project stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage industrial elevator installation and modernization projects from initiation through closeout.
  • Collaborate with and supervise union ironworkers and subcontractors to maintain project timelines and safety standards.
  • Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and engineering designs to ensure accurate implementation on-site.
  • Act as the primary liaison between clients, field crews, and internal teams to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Manage compliance with ASME standards and site-specific regulations.
  • Conduct regular field visits to job sites (up to 65% travel required).

Required Qualifications:

  • 3–5 years of experience in industrial construction management.
  • At least 10 years of total hands-on field experience (ironworking, electrical trades, welding, or similar).
  • Ability to obtain a TWIC card within 90 days of employment.
  • Demonstrated success in managing field teams and coordinating multiple tasks under pressure.
  • Strong skills in project planning, contractor coordination, and technical problem-solving.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in elevator installation or modernization.
  • Licensed elevator mechanic (state-specific licensure).
  • Familiarity with ASME 17.1 codes and compliance.
  • Background in managing multiple subcontractors on industrial job sites.
  • In-depth understanding of construction contracts, safety compliance, and QA/QC.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

Work Environment & Location

  • Remote-first position unless based in Shelton, CT or Houston, TX.
  • Must be able to work and attend meetings during Eastern or Central Time Zone business hours.
  • Travel required for on-site project management across the U.S.
