Construction Manager/Site Supervisor | Chicago, IL

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Construction Manager/Site Supervisor to lead the on-site execution of luxury residential construction projects. This role is responsible for coordinating daily site activities, managing subcontractors and vendors, ensuring quality control, and delivering projects on time and within budget. You will act as the key liaison between the design team, clients, trades, and internal leadership, bringing residential visions to life with precision, professionalism, and care.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee all phases of residential construction projects from site preparation through final punch list.
Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, suppliers, and on-site personnel to maintain a safe, clean, and productive job site.
Manage daily site operations including scheduling, inspections, quality control, and site safety.
Read and interpret architectural drawings, specifications, and permits.
Ensure compliance with building codes, zoning regulations, and safety standards.
Communicate project updates to clients, architects, designers, and internal stakeholders.
Monitor project budgets, schedules, and change orders, proactively resolving issues to prevent delays or overruns.
Maintain project documentation, including site reports, daily logs, RFIs, and progress photos.
Conduct regular walkthroughs to ensure high-quality workmanship and adherence to design intent.
Lead final inspections and manage close-out processes, including punch lists and occupancy readiness.
Qualifications
5-10 years of experience supervising residential construction or renovation projects.
Proven ability to manage complex, high-end custom home builds or major remodels.
Strong understanding of construction methods, building codes, and residential systems.
Famililary in construction management software, Buildertrend, or a similar software (i.e. Procore, etc.)
Exceptional communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Familiarity with sustainable building practices or high-performance homes.
Experience working directly with homeowners, interior designers, and architects.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain a calm, solutions-oriented approach under pressure.
Background in carpentry or hands-on building experience is a plus.
OSHA certification is a plus and a valid driver’s license is required.
