Job Summary
As the *Project Manager – Large Projects Heavy Civil*, you will plan, develop, coordinate, and manage on-site construction activities for major DOT contracts. You’ll own schedule, cost, quality, and client relationships while steering field teams and joint-venture partners. This position is also responsible for high-level project strategy, monthly cost reporting, and continuous risk mitigation—ensuring every milestone is met safely, on time, and on budget.
Key Responsibilities
* Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards in line with WW Clyde’s project-management guide.
* Plan, organize, and staff key field positions in coordination with regional department heads.
* Track budgets, job-cost adjustments, and monthly cost reports; present findings to Area and Division Managers.
* Interface with owners, JV partners, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies to resolve issues and keep work progressing.
* Provide administrative direction to on-site Superintendents; investigate serious situations and implement corrective actions.
* Represent WW Clyde in project meetings, labor-strategy sessions, and alternative-delivery negotiations.
* Ensure strict compliance with all safety, quality, and environmental requirements.
* Champion the use of construction technology and software to enhance schedule, cost, and document control.
* Perform other duties as assigned by the Division leadership team.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
* *10+ years* of heavy-civil experience with some experience managing large ($100 M+) DOT or alternative-delivery projects.
* Deep knowledge of construction equipment, techniques, drawings, specs, and industry standards.
* Proven ability to lead multi-discipline teams, negotiate with stakeholders, and deliver projects on schedule.
* Strong command of construction software tools for scheduling, cost control, and document management.
* Superior communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
* Willing and able to travel to project sites as needed.
