Position Summary This position performs or assists the Executive Director with the planning, managing, and controlling of the day-to-day operations and services provided by the Construction Department. The Project Manager has overall responsibility for capital planning, design, and construction project management. The Project Manager ensures a safe and positive environment of care by adhering to safety protocols and regulations. The role includes ownership of all capital projects from budgeting through completion, with knowledge of seismic, SPC/NPC requirements, building codes, and regulatory standards. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Assist in developing and recommending new safety procedures based on incident reports. Manage design and construction of capital projects, ensuring alignment with budgets, schedules, and scopes. Review construction drawings for accuracy and constructability. Prepare project cost estimates and checklists. Enforce ILSM and ICRA policies. Coordinate RFP processes for architectural, engineering, and inspection services. Collaborate with stakeholders on construction impacts, scheduling, and operational downtime. Monitor contractor progress and ensure compliance with policies. Review and approve contractor payments, track project costs. Ensure regulatory compliance of service areas. Perform other duties as assigned. Placement in the pay range depends on experience and qualifications. Compensation may include shift differentials, incentives, and bonuses. Qualifications Minimum Requirements At least 5 years' experience managing construction projects, preferably in hospitals. Supervisory experience preferred. Knowledge of project management techniques, construction materials, and methods used in healthcare facilities. Familiarity with Joint Commission, NFPA, Title 24 codes and regulations. Experience in preparing construction documents for healthcare settings. Knowledge of project delivery methods in healthcare. Education / Licensure / Certification Bachelors degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field, or equivalent hospital experience. Licensed Inspector of Record OSHPD preferred. Professional licenses or certifications are a plus. Valid California drivers license and insurance required.
