Project Manager – Commercial Ground-Up Construction
A growing general contractor is currently seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee commercial ground-up construction projects. This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic and fast-paced team delivering projects ranging from $500K to $25M+. The ideal candidate has a solid background in full-cycle project management and a track record of leading successful commercial builds from preconstruction through closeout.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the full lifecycle of commercial construction projects from preconstruction through final completion
Lead procurement efforts for subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors
Develop scopes of work and negotiate contracts and purchase agreements
Maintain project budgets, track job costs, and report on financial performance
Develop and manage project schedules to ensure on-time delivery
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and stakeholders
Oversee quality control, safety compliance, and schedule adherence on-site
Conduct project meetings and drive accountability across internal and external teams
Monitor and maintain project documentation, including contracts, RFIs, and change orders
Ensure successful completion of punch lists, closeout documents, and owner turnover
Collaborate with field teams and internal departments to align project goals and execution
Travel to job sites 2–3 days per week to ensure oversight and progress tracking
Qualifications
Required Experience:
2+ years of experience in commercial construction project management (3+ preferred)
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities
Proficiency in cost estimating, scheduling, contract writing, and subcontractor coordination
Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
Experience overseeing both office and field operations
Willingness and ability to travel regularly for site supervision
Preferred Background:
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
Prior experience with commercial ground-up builds in retail, office, or light industrial sectors
Compensation & Benefits
Salary range: $125,000+ annually, based on experience
