Construction Safety Coordinator

We are actively recruiting a Safety Coordinator to support a well-established construction contractor based in Mt. Airy, MD. This individual will play a key role in promoting and enforcing a culture of safety across all jobsites, ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations, and providing support to both field and office teams.

Key Responsibilities:
Support the planning, implementation, and enforcement of company safety policies
Conduct jobsite safety inspections and follow up on corrective actions
Lead toolbox talks, training sessions, and safety orientations
Advise field teams on hazard mitigation and safe work practices
Assist with incident investigations, reporting, and recordkeeping
Collaborate with HR to maintain training records, certifications, and OSHA logs
Serve as a resource for field personnel on safety needs and compliance
Help coordinate Safety Committee meetings and initiatives
Travel regularly to job sites using a company-provided vehicle
Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years of experience in construction, preferably in a safety-related role
Working knowledge of OSHA standards and construction safety practices
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to lead, mentor, and influence field and management teams
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
Working Conditions:
Must be comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
Will be exposed to typical construction site environments including heights, confined spaces, and energized equipment
Frequent travel to active job sites with potential extended periods of driving
Ability to access and inspect various levels of a construction site, including areas only accessible via ladders or stairs
