Summary:
The primary responsibility of the Production Supervisor/Manager is to oversee and coordinate the activities of production and operations personnel. This role ensures production goals are met safely, efficiently, and in compliance with quality standards. The position requires a strong focus on workforce leadership, process improvement, and problem resolution within a manufacturing or production environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Implement strategies to motivate employees and enhance production methods, equipment performance, product quality, and overall efficiency.
Review operations and collaborate with technical and administrative staff to resolve production or processing issues.
Develop and implement tracking systems for production and quality control; analyze data to identify and solve production issues.
Hire, train, evaluate, and if necessary, discharge staff; handle personnel grievances and maintain morale.
Establish and enforce product quality standards to ensure consistent, high-quality outputs.
Prepare, maintain, and analyze production reports and personnel records to support operational improvements.
Conduct regular field walks to monitor processes and ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.
Required Skills and Competencies:
Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate across all levels of the organization.
Excellent attention to detail and effective problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work independently, manage time efficiently, and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
In-depth knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control procedures, and efficiency optimization.
Familiarity with machines and tools, including their design, usage, repair, and maintenance.
Understanding of design techniques, blueprints, models, and technical plans relevant to production environments.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Education and Experience Requirements:
High school diploma or GED required. Associate’s degree in Business, Manufacturing, or a related field preferred.
Minimum 10 years of experience in production or manufacturing operations, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
Safety certifications required (e.g., COLSO or equivalent).
