Construction Safety Manager

Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety programs and policies. Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards. Lead safety training sessions for employees, subcontractors, and site supervisors. Investigate incidents and near-misses, prepare detailed reports, and recommend corrective actions. Maintain and update safety documentation, including SDS, training records, and inspection logs. Coordinate with third-party safety auditors and manage Wrap-Up Insurance documentation. Monitor and report on key safety metrics such as EMR and act as the primary point of contact for all safety-related matters on job sites. Promote a culture of safety and accountability at all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Recommend corrective actions based on investigations.
  • Maintain and update safety documentation.
  • Coordinate with third-party safety auditors.
  • Manage Wrap-Up Insurance documentation.
  • Monitor and report on key safety metrics.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all safety-related matters.
  • Promote a culture of safety and accountability.

Essential Skills

  • Safety training and health & safety management.
  • Safety management degree.
  • Compliance knowledge.
  • Minimum 35 years of experience in construction safety management.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, FMCSR, DOT regulations.
  • Experience with safety compliance platforms.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and safety management software.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Construction Management, or related field (preferred).
  • Additional certifications such as CHST, CSP are a plus.

Work Environment

The role requires presence on-site for five days a week. The position includes the use of a company truck and a gas card. The work environment is centered around promoting safety and implementing new Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for NJ-based construction projects.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $1350000.00/yr.
