Safety Manager Location: Gainesville, VA Industry: Construction - Data Centers & Commercial Buildings About the Role Join a team committed to a safety-first culture on high-profile construction projects. As a Safety Manager, you'll be instrumental in ensuring compliance with safety standards and fostering a secure work environment across data center and commercial building sites. Key Responsibilities Enforce project-specific and client-specific safety plans and guidelines. Collaborate with regional safety leads to ensure proper signage and PPE availability. Verify completion of safety orientation training for all on-site personnel. Collect and organize safety documentation from subcontractors and trade partners (e.g., JHAs, SDSs, High-Risk Activity Plans, certifications). Conduct daily safety audits using a digital platform, including annotated photo documentation. Submit at least two Safety Observation Reports weekly. Spend 60-70% of time in the field engaging with crews and monitoring safety practices. Participate in daily huddles, coordination meetings, foremen's meetings, and preconstruction sessions. Lead or support weekly all-hands safety meetings, including prep and attendance tracking. Spot-check safety documentation during site visits. Track and review Daily Action Plans, High-Risk Activity Plans, and orientation records. Report incidents and near-misses; assist with investigations. Conduct site-specific safety orientations and maintain communication with subcontractor safety reps. Lead or contribute to planning meetings for high-risk activities. Qualifications Minimum 5 years of construction safety experience, including 3+ years in a managerial role. Safety certifications such as CHST or CSP. Strong communication and leadership skills. Experience supporting data center or commercial building construction projects. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $70.00/hr.
