Our Safety Division is responsible for providing consulting, expertise, training and resources to ensure the highest level of safety and health for our employees.

We have an opening for a Construction Safety Professional based out of our Scottsville headquarters . This role will support our Underground Division. This position works on-site with our team members and reports directly to the Director, Safety & Training.

Salary Range: $75,000 to $90,000 per year

Location: Rochester, NY

Primary Function and Scope: The Construction Safety Professional will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive safety programs and training initiatives to ensure a safe, compliant work environment on our job sites and in our shops. This role involves partnering with assigned divisions to proactively identify and address safety issues and promote a strong safety culture. This role will be the partner to our Underground Division, which includes Gas and Subway work.

Specific duties of this role will include, but not be limited to: Conduct site safety visits Ensure the fulfillment of safety responsibilities, such as toolbox talks and compliance with safety administrative/compliance requirements Investigate workplace incidents and work to implement appropriate corrective actions Create and administer site specific safety plans as required Ensure provision and utilization of appropriate PPE Determine division training needs and work with Training team to deliver as required Proactively work to identify and remedy safety and health threats Attend trade shows, conferences, and professional development opportunities that align with Underground division Qualifications: At least 10 years of combined experience in construction and safety Knowledge of construction practices; knowledge of underground and excavating safe work practices a plus Knowledge and understanding of Natural Gas Operator Qualifications a plus Strong safety orientation; deep knowledge of construction safety and health laws, regulations and procedures Influence Resolute but not stubborn Practical problem solver

Working Conditions and Physical Effort: The working conditions are a combination of office, shop and on construction job sites Employee must have the ability to move throughout a construction job site, including walking, standing, and climbing stairs or ladders Must be able to work in various environmental conditions, including noise, dust, fumes, and varying temperatures Able to lift up to 25 pounds regularly
