Construction Sales Engineer

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop relationships with general contractors and mechanical contractors to win new work
Influence specifications through consulting engineers
Estimate and bid projects
Ensure overall customer satisfaction with products and services
Identify target new customers and create acquisition strategy
Create and execute account plans for target contractor or building owner. Typical plans will include: SWOT chart, differentiators, competitive analysis, organizational charts, buying influencers, KPI's, implicit/explicit needs, market influencers, and action items.
Develop and maintain "blue-sheets" for key opportunities
Work with building owners to influence "flat specification" or "preferred" status
Accurately qualify and forecast opportunities
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Strong negotiating and estimating skills
Experience with Design/Build project delivery
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and unsupervised
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Analytical and financial management skills
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: Minimum 2 years of proven, successful sales experience
B.S. Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical experience/knowledge
Understand SPIN and Strategic Selling sales models (or equivalent)
