Overview
Our Data Center Mission Critical Group is seeking a Part Time Fire Marshall to work onsite in Amarillo, TX at a hyperscale data center site. This will be a 1 - 2 year project, and hours will be up to 30 per week. In this dynamic role, you’ll assess fire hazards, shape fire protection system designs, and ensure every detail meets critical safety codes and standards.
Per diem and travel allowance available for non-local candidates.
Responsibilities
A day in the life of this role means applying your fire protection knowledge to ensure safety from the ground up. You’ll review designs, evaluate systems, and help teams stay code-compliant. Whether you're assessing risks, verifying installations, or collaborating with clients, your work plays a vital role in preventing harm and building safer environments.
Fire Hazard Assessment & System Design : Assessment and prediction of fire hazards or risks, mitigation of fire damage by proper design, review of fire protection design (fire sprinkler, fire alarm, and fire suppression), inspection of fire protection systems, and witness of the testing and operation of fire protection systems
Design Review & Code Compliance : Review and evaluate the project design (fire sprinkler, fire alarm, and fire suppression) to ensure drawings, specifications, and supporting documents needed for the project are code compliant. Review designs of new and modified facilities throughout various stages of development to assure compliance with the corresponding codes and standards. Ensure various fire protection design criteria are met
Fire Protection Plan Review : Review Fire Protection Plans for code compliance
Client Communication & Quality Assurance : Interface with Client Quality Assurance on a regular basis to ensure client’s needs and expectations are being met

Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required; associate degree or higher preferred
Typically requires 10 years of experience in construction, building trades, or code inspection AND at least 5 years of experience as a certified building or fire inspector
Experience in building or fire plan examinations preferred
Data Center or mission critical construction and inspection experience preferred
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to be an individual contributor and work effectively in teams
