Project Description: Interior and exterior maintenance and repair of Building N1, including architectural, civil, structural, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and fire protection modifications. The building is occupied and the project shall be phased. Phasing of the Work shall require a temporary office and restroom be provided for use by the tenant. Exterior Work includes replacement of existing buried utilities. Due to the presence of contaminated soil in the vicinity of the project site, all excavations and dewatering shall be completed in accordance with an ADEC-approved Environmental Management Plan (EMP) and Dewatering Plan. Key Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and manage the Site Safety and Health Plan (SSHP) in compliance with EM 385-1-1, OSHA, and federal contract requirements. Serve as the primary point of contact for all safety-related matters on the job site, including government safety inspections and audits. Conduct daily site safety inspections, hazard analyses, and safety meetings/toolbox talks. Identify and correct unsafe working conditions, behaviors, or violations promptly. Maintain site-specific safety documentation, including Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs), Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and incident reports. Ensure all employees and subcontractors have received the appropriate safety orientation and training prior to beginning work. Lead investigations of any accidents, near-misses, or safety violations and provide corrective action reports. Track and report safety performance metrics and provide regular updates to project and corporate safety leadership. Coordinate with the Quality Control Manager and Superintendent to ensure all phases of work are planned and executed with safety as a top priority. Support the enforcement of the project’s COVID-19 and/or environmental health protocols (if applicable). Ensure compliance with PPE requirements and monitor usage. Qualifications: Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or related field preferred. Experience: Minimum 5 years of safety experience on federal construction projects (e.g., USACE, NAVFAC, VA). Certifications (Required): OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification Current First Aid/CPR Certification EM 385-1-1 Training Certificate (within the last 5 years) Preferred Certifications: CHST (Construction Health and Safety Technician) CSP (Certified Safety Professional) Fall Protection, Confined Space, and other relevant safety training Job Type: Full-time
