Construction Superintendent / Field Project Manager (PM)

As Field Project Manager you will be responsible for overseeing multiple small-scale construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring efficiency, cost control, and quality. This role requires a dynamic individual who combines on-site leadership with project management responsibilities, coordinating subcontractors, managing schedules, and maintaining excellent communication with stakeholders. We are looking for a Field Project Manager who is a hands-on leader who excels in a dynamic and evolving work setting and takes ownership of every project from the field, demonstrating resilience, determination, grit, and proactive problem-solving.
What You'll be Doing:
- Overseeing the full lifecycle of multiple small-scale construction projects, ensuring on-time and within budget completion.
- Fostering strong client relationships by ensuring plans, specifications and project documents are executed based on customer expectations and contractual obligations.
- Maintaining clear and proactive communication throughout the project lifecycle.
- Serving as the primary on-site point of contact for clients, subcontractors, and project teams.
- Upholding and enforcing Company and OSHA safety standards, making sure all job site protocols are followed and proactively address potential hazards - ensuring the health and safety of direct reports, other team members and all stakeholders associated with the project.
What You'll be Doing (in the Field):
- Supervising all laborers, subcontractors, and suppliers to verify that work is performed according to the project schedule, specifications and plans.
- Conducting weekly site meetings with subcontractors to review scheduling, work sequencing, and job site safety.
- Planning and coordinating all construction material procurement, tracking inventory and ensuring timely availability for each project.
- Planning and coordinating all necessary equipment, machinery, and tool usage for each project, maintaining proper operations and compliance with safety regulations.
- Directing and mentoring support labor, including carpenters and laborers, assisting in any additional site work beyond subcontractor scope.
- Maintaining detailed project records, including daily reports, look-ahead schedules, and progress documentation.
- Ensuring all close-out documentation, warranties, and punch lists are completed efficiently.
What You'll be Doing (Project Management):
- Creating and maintaining the overall project schedule. Managing project scheduling and sequencing, adjusting as needed to maintain efficiency and minimize delays.
- Coordinating with the Controller to track financial performance and generate monthly pay applications to clients.
- Developing project scopes and estimates, ensuring feasibility and profitability. Creating and managing subcontractor agreements and approve project-related invoices.
- Maintaining detailed project documentation, utilizing construction management software, to ensure accuracy and transparency.
- Managing submittal process and material selections.
- Facilitating weekly owner and architect meetings, providing updates on progress and resolving any project concerns.
- Organizing and leading final project review meetings with clients and internal teams to assess performance and identify lessons learned.
What We're Looking For:
- Bachelor or Associates degree is preferred. A minimum of high school diploma is required.
- 3-5 years experience working as a superintendent, foreman, project manager or other equivalent position in the construction industry.
- Knowledge of construction and remodeling trades, practices, procedures, techniques, tools and equipment, materials, specifications, quality control, cost control, and safety.
- Able to read blueprints, familiar with standard commercial specifications and can demonstrate mathematical skills for material estimates.
- Computer literacy with working knowledge of Microsoft Office products: Outlook, Word, and Excel. Familiarity with Procore and Bluebeam is preferred.
- 10-hour OSHA General Construction safety course is required within six months of hire.
- Must have an unexpired and valid driver's license and clear driving record.
Physical Demands:
- You will be standing/walking with freedom of movement on a regular basis, operating hand tools, power tools, construction equipment, vehicles and handling construction materials.
- You will engage in frequent physical activity, including walking, climbing, bending, standing, pushing, pulling, lifting and stooping.
- Your physical surroundings will generally be outdoors, subject to all weather conditions in various locations. Including exposure to noise, vibrations and potential hazards.
