Position Summary:
Our client is a well established construction company specializing in federal government projects and are seeking a highly skilled Construction Site Superintendent / Quality Manager to oversee on-site operations while ensuring strict adherence to quality control standards. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, technical expertise across all construction trades, and proven experience managing quality assurance on federal construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Construction Management Supervise all aspects of on-site construction activities, ensuring compliance with project plans, specifications, and safety regulations. Manage and coordinate subcontractors, trades, and suppliers to meet project schedules and budgets. Review and interpret construction documents, including RFI's, submittals, and shop drawings. Conduct daily site inspections to confirm compliance with building codes, safety standards, and quality expectations. Resolve on-site issues and conflicts promptly to minimize delays. Communicate effectively with the project management team regarding progress, challenges, and updates. Oversee project closeout, including preparation of as-builts, O&M manuals, and warranties. Quality Management Implement and enforce Corps of Engineers Construction Quality Control (CQC) requirements. Lead and document three-phase quality control inspections (Preparatory, Initial, and Follow-Up). Ensure materials, workmanship, and construction methods comply with government specifications and contract documents. Maintain daily quality control reports and records for government review. Collaborate with project teams to address and resolve deficiencies proactively. Uphold quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) procedures to maintain the highest project standards. Qualifications: Minimum 5 years of commercial construction experience, including at least 5 years in a superintendent role. Demonstrated experience in quality management on government construction projects. U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Construction Quality Control (CQC) certification (completed within the last 5 years). Comprehensive understanding of all construction trades and sequencing. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Project) and web-based construction platforms. Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills. Familiarity with government construction standards, specifications, and QA/QC processes. Preferred Candidate: Detail-oriented and highly professional with the ability to balance both superintendent and quality management responsibilities. Proven track record of delivering federal construction projects safely, on time, and within budget. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to anticipate and address issues proactively.
