Description
Planning, coordinating, and supervising of daily functions of all maintenance personnel responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, calibrating, installing, performing or contracting and documenting preventive, corrective, and reactive maintenance of all treatment plants, and related treatment facilities, collection and distribution systems.
GENERAL FUNCTION:
Position involves project management and coordination according to scope, schedule and budget specifications.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Valid driver's license
- 4+ years of previous underground utility construction experience (water, sewer, storm systems), including 2+ years in a supervisory role
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, safety regulations, and quality standards.
- Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and budgets
ADDITIONAL CERTIFICATIONS DESIRED:
CDL Class A, Water, Wastewater, or Distribution license, Backflow Certification, and repair.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Review facilities and conditions for proposed clients and identify system deficiencies
- Develop and submit work proposals that are not covered under contract
- Develop initial and annual Statement of Conditions in concert with the Operations and Maintenance staff
- Coordinate job schedule based upon customers approved job requests
- Maintain contact with clients on various job proposals
- Communicate with billing when proposals are sent, approved and each job is completed to invoice in a timely manner.
- Develop and maintain a schedule for all R2 Maintenance Facility Preventative Maintenance
- Coordinate the on-call schedule for all R2 Maintenance Technicians
- Coach, counsel, and train staff in proper maintenance and repair procedures
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is performed in an office and out in the field at various job sites. Travel to various work location, job sites, or meeting locations is frequent. Attendance at meetings or outside of normal schedule may be required. Extended periods of concentration and sedentary work are required. Work is performed around a variety of inside and outside environmental conditions, in tight and confined spaces, above and underground, is subject to loud noises and noxious fumes, and working around traffic or near construction equipment. Work may be indoors or outdoors, and the employee may be on 24-hour call.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Travel to attend meetings away from regular work site or to inspect various job site locations is required. A position in this class is generally exposed to prolonged periods of standing, bending, climbing, use of hands for operating a variety of hand/power tools, equipment, and machinery requiring finger and hand dexterity, observing equipment and machinery in order to ensure proper working conditions, working in the field working environment in all types of weather conditions and using proper safety equipment and devices.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Principles and practices of asset management.
- Materials, methods, and techniques commonly used in construction, maintenance, and repair activities as related to Water and Wastewater facilities and infrastructure.
- Departmental policies, procedures, regulations, and applicable bargaining agreements.
- Hazards and safety precautions of the work.
- General practices applied to the care and safe operation of assigned equipment, maintenance programs, maintenance equipment and its operations.
- Purchasing procedures
- Familiar with use and operation of personal computers and Intermediate skill level in Excel and basic understanding of other Microsoft applications.
