AWPM is an award-winning Engineering & Construction Project Management Firm on a mission “to exceed client's expectations by delivering value added solutions one task at a time.” We are looking to add a Construction Superintendent to our dynamic team. AWBG is based in Downtown Memphis, TN, with offices in Houston, TX and Birmingham, AL. This position is full-time onsite in Memphis, TN at various construction locations.

Position Summary: The Construction Superintendent is a pivotal role, you will lead and oversee construction projects from start to finish. As Construction Superintendent you will ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget, while maintaining the highest standards of quality. Your expertise will be instrumental in coordinating with subcontractors, managing site operations, and fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence. This position is full-time onsite in Memphis, TN at various construction locations.
Essential functions:
Oversee and manage all aspects of construction projects from start to finish. Coordinate and supervise the work of subcontractors and on-site personnel. Ensure adherence to safety standards and regulations on the construction site. Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring timely completion of milestones. Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and quality of work. Resolve any issues or conflicts that arise during the construction process. Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers to ensure project alignment. Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports. Manage procurement of materials and equipment necessary for the project. Maintain communication with clients to provide updates and address concerns. Ensure compliance with building codes and permitting requirements. Implement cost-control measures to keep the project within budget. Train and mentor site staff to improve performance and efficiency. Review and approve project plans, blueprints, and specifications. Conduct final inspections and ensure project closure documentation is completed.
Qualifications: Education - Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred. Skills - Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel. Experience Minimum of 8 years of experience in construction management or related field Proven track record in supervising commercial or residential construction projects Strong understanding of construction processes, means, and methods Proficient in project management software and construction management tools Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering plans Knowledge of local, state, and federal construction regulations and safety standards Ability to coordinate multiple teams and manage subcontractors OSHA certification or similar safety training Strong financial acumen with the ability to manage budgets and project costs Demonstrated ability to deliver projects on time and within budget

Typical Physical Demands or W orking Conditions: Typically works at a construction site, outdoor and all-weather conditions. Required to stand for long periods of time and may involve heavy manual labor. You will need to be able to stand, sit, walk, bend, stoop, reach, lift, push, pull, and carry items. Exposure to loud noises Ability to be on feet while performing job responsibilities. Ability to sit for long periods of time depending on your position and/or getting. Ability to view a computer for a long period of time.
Technology Demands : It is not a prerequisite to be proficient in any of the following, but the technician must be prepared to engage with the following technologies: Microsoft Office Suite and handheld GPS devices.
