Construction Superintendent

The Construction Superintendent plays a crucial role in overseeing on-site coordination for all phases of construction projects. This position ensures subcontractors, materials, and equipment adhere to specifications while maintaining schedule and budget. Responsibilities include scheduling, inspections, quality control, and job safety.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day construction site activities from commencement to punch list.
  • Assist the Project Manager in developing a project schedule.
  • Coordinate subcontractor work to maintain the project schedule.
  • Create and maintain a project 'two-week look ahead'.
  • Maintain daily reports and progress photo documentation.
  • Attend project meetings with the Project Manager.
  • Hold safety 'tool box' meetings with subcontractors and onsite employees.
  • Coordinate, schedule, and meet officials for building inspections.
  • Schedule inspections and field testing such as compaction and concrete.
  • Ensure a safe and clean project site is maintained.
  • Inspect work in progress throughout the day.
  • Take progress photos.
  • Document areas of deficiency or unforeseen job conditions with photos and written narratives.
  • Ensure project specifications are adhered to by subcontractors.
  • Maintain project quality control.
  • Conduct oneself in a professional manner.
  • Essential Skills:

    • 5+ years of experience as a Construction Superintendent.
    • Proficiency in commercial construction, including retail, educational, and healthcare projects.
    • Experience in subcontractor management and quality control.
    • Knowledge of site construction and safety standards.
    • Proficiency in Procore software.
    • OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 certifications.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
    • Experience in self-performing construction tasks.
    • Experience in pre-construction or carpentry.

    Work Environment:

    The role is based on project sites within Connecticut, with projects located within one hour from home. The company is a self-performing entity, ensuring local and manageable site locations.

    Pay and Benefits:
