We are seeking a highly experienced Construction Superintendent to lead and oversee complex commercial construction projects in San Antonio. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in managing large-scale public construction projects, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and delivering on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
Implement and manage all aspects of site logistics, including mobilization, signage, security, and neighbor relations.
Oversee material management, ensuring efficient receiving, staging, storing, and timely deliveries for optimal production.
Establish and maintain precise engineering controls both horizontally and vertically.
Lead and manage pre-installation and weekly coordination meetings with subcontractors.
Ensure effective site utilization and lay down area management for subcontractors.
Continuously assess and maintain labor, material, and equipment requirements.
Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, including SWPP, environmental, and pollution controls.
Coordinate with Project Managers to ensure accurate and timely material delivery and subcontractor installations.
Identify and address underperforming subcontractors or team members promptly.
Manage third-party inspectors and coordinate owner and design team inspections and visits.
Complete all project punch lists efficiently.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree with a minimum of four years of relevant training or experience.
At least 10 years of experience as a project superintendent in commercial public construction.
Experience with highly regulated projects such as K-12 schools and hospitals.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting legal documents and construction plans.
Skilled in creating and managing CPM schedules and performing quantity take-offs.
Extensive knowledge of construction means, methods, and structural shop drawings.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and manage diverse teams.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Competence in conflict and crisis management and logical problem-solving.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
