Construction Supervisor

Habitat for Humanity of Tuscaloosa is seeking to fill the position of Site Supervisor. The primary job of the site supervisor will be to lead volunteers in performing construction tasks. This will sometimes involve physically, personally performing the work, and other times overseeing the work of others. This is primarily a teaching position. It requires patience, a positive image, and tact.
The following skills and abilities will be required:
Getting along with volunteers of various ages, backgrounds, and skill levels Creating and maintaining a program of safe work practices for all participants Keeping volunteers engaged, responding to abilities Knowing / learning construction techniques (framing, flooring, trim, painting, etc.) Teaching volunteers how to perform various construction tasks Maintaining a high level of quality control Hard-working Prioritizing critical tasks and pushing to completion Finishing projects in a timely manner, finishing houses quickly and efficiently Preparing sites with materials, tools, to-do lists, etc. Tracking / organizing paperwork, tools, materials Keeping work site clean Contributing to the overall mission, representing the organization well Executing tasks with purpose and passion Ability to lift 50 lbs. Ability to work outside in a variety of weather conditions
Preferred background:
3 - 5 years experience with some aspect of residential construction 2 - 3 years teaching / managing experience

Pay: $35,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
