Construction Technician

We are seeking a skilled and motivated renovation laborer to join our in-house team specializing in apartment interior remodeling. This role is ideal for individuals with hands-on experience in renovations, remodeling, or property maintenance who take pride in quality workmanship. Each day presents unique challenges, requiring strong prioritization, multitasking, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills. Whether you have 1-2 years of direct remodeling experience or 4-5 years in property maintenance, this is an excellent opportunity to expand your skills within a stable, growing company.
This is a REMOTE role that must ideally reside near the Jersey Shore area.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform demolition and installation of cabinets, doors, door hardware, and cabinet refacing.
- Install plumbing fixtures, including sinks, faucets, disposals, angle stop valves, toilets, and bathtubs.
- Install electrical components, such as light fixtures, ceiling fans, outlets, GFCI devices, and light switches.
- Hang drywall, complete small patch repairs, apply texture, and perform mud and tape work.
- Conduct finish carpentry work, including installing door casings, bi-fold doors, bypass doors, passage doors, and baseboards.
- Perform monthly equipment checks to ensure proper functioning.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, as well as regulatory requirements (e.g., Fair Housing, Landlord-Tenant laws, OSHA, EEOC).

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or GED required; vocational training or certification in construction trades is a plus.
- At least 2 years of experience in interior residential construction, remodeling, or a related field.
- Proficiency with hand and power tools, construction materials, and measuring devices.
- Ability to read blueprints, use a tape measure accurately, and perform basic math calculations (including fractions and decimals).
- Strong time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks efficiently and safely.
- Ability to make informed decisions on minor issues within company policies.
- Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to safe work procedures in all environments.
- This position requires regular driving to multiple sites. Candidates must possess a valid driver’s license, maintain an acceptable driving record, have reliable transportation, and be able to operate a motor vehicle safely as part of their job duties. - Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This role involves working in a variety of settings, primarily within residential units undergoing renovation. This may include exposure to dust, debris, noise, and varying temperatures. The work may be performed both indoors and occasionally outdoors. Travel between sites is required. Employees will interact with other contractors, property management staff, and potentially residents. Adherence to safety protocols is always essential.

- Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and reaching.
- Lifting and carrying materials and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. regularly.
- Use of hand and power tools, requiring manual dexterity and grip strength.
- Climbing ladders or stairs.
- Visual acuity to read blueprints, measurements, and instructions.
- Ability to work in various positions, including awkward or confined spaces.
- Tolerance of typical construction site conditions (dust, noise, etc.).
COMPENSATION
Pay may vary by location. The range for this role is $36/hr- $43/hr plus bonus. Pay determinations are made based on numerous factors, such as, but not limited to, the relevant market and the skill, experience, and education of the selected candidate.
Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check, drug screening, and verification of employment, education, and other credentials relevant to the position.
