SAM Construction Group is the construction division for our vertically-integrated developer, SAM Development Group.
We specialize in new mid-rise multifamily and luxury home construction.
Our structures are concrete and steel, with in-house divisions self-performing a variety of trade craft scopes including:
grading/excavation, underground wet/dry utilities, concrete/rebar, framing/drywall, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, roofing, landscaping, pool, tile as well as other scopes
We are seeking experienced Construction Trade Foreman with minimum 5-7 years of experience on either mid-rise/high-rise apartments or luxury home construction.
A construction foreman is a key on-site leader responsible for overseeing all aspects of their trade craft from start to finish.
Their primary role is to ensure that projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Core Responsibilities
Supervise daily operations at the construction site, including managing crews
Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and project superintendent to define project needs and ensure smooth workflow
Develop, implement, and maintain project schedules, ensuring deadlines are met and work progresses according to plan
Enforce safety protocols and maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations to ensure a safe work environment for all personnel
Oversee quality control, conducting inspections and ensuring all work meets specified standards and client expectations
Coordinate with project managers on ordering materials and scheduling equipment, track inventory, and coordinate deliveries to support project timelines
Maintain detailed site logs and documentation of daily activities, progress, and any issues or incidents
Serve as the main point of contact on-site, facilitating communication between the project team, clients, subcontractors, and vendors
Resolve on-site issues and emergencies, making decisions to keep the project moving forward
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Key Skills and Qualifications
Strong leadership and team management abilities, including motivating crews and managing conflict
Excellent communication skills for interacting with diverse stakeholders and maintaining clear records
In-depth knowledge of construction processes, equipment, safety standards, and building codes1
Proficiency in project planning, scheduling, and budgeting
Problem-solving and decision-making skills to address challenges as they arise
Organizational skills, including time management, prioritization, and multitasking
Experience with construction management software and tools is often preferred
Typical Duties
Conduct daily site meetings and safety briefings
Review and interpret blueprints, specifications, and project documents
Manage Requests for Information (RFIs), submittals, and project documentation
Plan and coordinate inspections
Ensure the jobsite remains clean, organized, and secure
Prepare and update project schedules, including short-term (look-ahead) planning
Lead preconstruction planning and on-site project meetings
