Dalian Development is seeking a Director of Design and Construction to oversee and execute complex ground-up developments across the country. You’ll work closely with internal and external teams to ensure each project delivers on our commitment to quality, design integrity, and performance.What You Will Get to DoLead the design and construction process from predevelopment through project closeout on multifamily and mixed-use developments.Manage internal project delivery teams and external consultants, including architects, engineers, general contractors, and specialty vendors.Oversee project design coordination, ensuring alignment with budget, operational goals, and the company’s architectural vision.Prepare and manage construction budgets, schedules, and risk assessments. Monitor cost variances and implement value engineering strategies while preserving design quality.Work with municipalities, architects, and consultants to secure all required permits and approvals.Facilitate RFP processes, bid reviews, and contractor negotiations. Ensure comprehensive scope coverage and bid leveling.Lead weekly project meetings, site visits, and cross-functional coordination with development, finance, and operations teams.Establish and maintain QA/QC protocols throughout construction.Drive innovation in construction techniques, sustainability initiatives, and project delivery strategies.RequirementsWhat You Bring To The RoleUndergraduate degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field.10+ years of relevant experience in real estate development and construction, with strong ground-up development experience required.Proven ability to deliver complex multifamily and mixed-use projects on time and on budget.Experience with both high-rise and wood-frame construction preferred.Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.Ability to travel as needed to oversee regional projects.Deep familiarity with permitting, design review, and local regulatory processes in urban markets.What We OfferAt Dalian, people and culture are our most valuable assets.
