A nationally recognized renewable energy company is actively expanding into the data center space as demand grows from key clients. With more enterprise clients asking for full-scope, ground-up delivery capabilities, the company is hiring a Director of Data Center Construction to lead this effort.
This is a high-impact, strategic role for someone who understands the end-to-end delivery of hyperscale and colocation data centers, from site selection to commissioning. You’ll work directly with clients, oversee the construction life cycle, and have the opportunity to grow and lead a new business division.
Responsibilities:
Serve as the internal and external lead for all construction activities related to data center builds
Manage ground-up projects from site due diligence through final turnover
Collaborate with development, power, and engineering teams on early-stage planning
Build and lead relationships with external GC partners, trade contractors, and vendors
Provide leadership in contract negotiation, scheduling, budgeting, and quality assurance
Represent the company in client meetings and ensure alignment with long-term program goals
Help define internal processes, tools, and best practices for future mission-critical construction
Eventually hire and manage a dedicated internal delivery team
Qualifications:
10+ years of construction experience, with at least 5+ in mission-critical/data center delivery
Deep understanding of the construction process for large-scale, ground-up data centers
Familiar with mission-critical infrastructure including MEP systems, UPS, and commissioning
Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders, including developers, clients, and contractors
Strong client-facing presence with excellent communication and leadership skills
Comfortable working in a dynamic, entrepreneurial, and cross-functional environment
Compensation & Benefits:
$180,000–$220,000 base salary + annual performance bonus
