Director of Sales (Data Center Construction)

Our client is a rapidly growing manufacturer in the commercial construction space, providing innovative products to sectors such as data centers, hospitals, and K-12 schools. With consistent year-over-year growth exceeding 50%, they are poised for significant expansion and are investing in top-tier leadership to drive their next phase.
This is a high-impact player-coach role that starts with direct business development responsibilities and transitions over time into a strategic leadership position. The Director of Sales will manage a small internal team and a national network of third-party manufacturer’s reps, while spearheading go-to-market efforts and expanding the company’s customer base.
Position: Director of Sales
Compensation: $150,000–$180,000 base + bonus + benefits
Location: Philadelphia (Remote) + 40% travel to clients (most be close to a major airport)
Key Responsibilities
Drive new business development across key verticals including data centers, healthcare, and education.
Develop and execute strategic sales plans, including setting clear goals, metrics, and market approaches.
Manage, coach, and grow the internal sales team, setting performance targets and conducting regular reviews.
Oversee ~20 independent rep firms nationwide, ensuring alignment with company standards and strategy.
Build and maintain strong relationships with architects, engineers, building owners, and other key stakeholders.
Partner with marketing to develop and execute targeted campaigns.
Track competitive activity and market trends to adapt strategies in real time.
Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows.
Requirements
7+ years of sales experience, ideally in construction materials or building systems.
Proven success in leadership roles with a strong hunter mindset.
Experience launching new products and developing go-to-market strategies.
Existing relationships with architects, specifiers, and construction industry influencers preferred.
Background in data center markets is a plus.
Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Construction, or related field.
Strong communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
CRM proficiency and ability to lead in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Willingness to travel up to 40%.
