Senior Electrical Engineer / Electrical Designer | Dallas, TX | Mid to Senior-Level | PE Required About the Role An established engineering firm is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer or Electrical Designer to manage and execute building systems projects in the Dallas, TX office. This role involves overseeing the design and delivery of electrical and integrated communications systems across a variety of residential and commercial developments. This is a client-facing role requiring technical depth, project leadership, and team mentorship. The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of experience , a Professional Engineer (PE) license , and a strong background in consulting engineering environments. What You'll Do Lead and manage electrical design projects across multiple phases and scales.
Develop and review electrical load calculations, schematics, and equipment selections.
Design electrical systems: distribution, lighting, grounding, fire alarm, UPS, and life safety systems.
Design ICAT systems including AV, structured cabling, access control, and security systems.
Write technical specifications and review construction documentation.
Supervise engineering teams, ensuring accuracy, code compliance, and technical delivery.
Manage project timelines, schedules, budgets, and internal coordination.
Perform site visits and oversee quality control during construction.
Communicate effectively with clients, consultants, and contractors.
Provide mentoring and coaching to junior technical staff.
Identify project scope changes and coordinate necessary adjustments.
What You Bring Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering (or related discipline).
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) required.
5+ years of experience in electrical engineering design.
Consulting engineering or AEC experience strongly preferred.
Familiarity with construction methods, engineering standards, and project delivery workflows.
Experience with mechanical and electrical systems coordination.
Excellent communication, documentation, and leadership skills.
Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and mentoring junior engineers.
Strong technical proficiency and ability to work in a fast-paced, client-driven environment.
LEED accreditation and project management certification are a plus.
