Job Description General Responsibilities: Terracon’s Construction Services consist of but are not limited to, the execution of environmental remediation, fuel service station closure, and renewable energy construction (testing, installation, and maintenance), which will be executed by Terracon-employed equipment operators and support staff. Laborers operate as a team in support of Equipment Operators, Foreman, and Superintendents to execute Terracon Construction Services. Perform site reconnaissance and confirm locations have met all utility clearance requirements. Work may include the use of various excavators, backhoes, dozers, skid steers, graders, loaders, scrapers, compactors, earth-hauling equipment, and other heavy equipment. Services will take place in the field on client sites.
Essential Roles and Responsibilities: Participate in conducting safety loss prevention observations (LPO’s). Report any safety issues or concerns to management. Assist in filling out and completing daily reports. This position is designed to train the individual in the various aspects of becoming an Equipment Operator including: Equipment maintenance, Light and heavy equipment operation, Gain knowledge of construction service activities and technologies General knowledge of reading civil plans. Assist the lead Equipment Operator to help perform routine construction activities. Operates light equipment (forklift, tiller, skid steer, mini-excavator, and water truck). Follow safety rules, guidelines, and standards for all projects. Participate in pre-task planning. Report any safety issues or concerns to management. Maintain quality standards on all projects. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience. Soil Composition Testing, Trench Safety. Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history. Preferred Certification: Class A CDL License For Remediation Construction projects, 40-Hour HAZWOPER certificate, TWIC and DOT medical card preferred.
