In this role, you will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities aimed at ensuring environmental excellence: Lead the planning, directing, and management of environmental processes and personnel within the facility.
Communicate effectively regarding environmental issues with all levels of plant staff, from operations to management.
Interface and engage with regulatory agencies including the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as well as internal legal departments.
Provide expert analysis and consultation on environmental programs and initiatives.
Track and report on company-wide environmental performance metrics, ensuring adherence to regulations and facilitating trainings for environmental staff.
Develop and maintain the group’s budget while actively participating in due diligence activities.
Exercise supervisory duties, promoting the development of environmental expertise within your team.
Facilitate quarterly meetings regarding corporate EHSS policies to ensure alignment and progress across the organization.
Required Qualifications
To excel in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. A minimum of 10 years of supervisory experience in environmental management. At least 10 years of relevant experience in environmental compliance and governance. Demonstrated knowledge of Federal NSPS, NSR, and MACT standards as well as RCRA waste and NPDES water regulations. Strong familiarity with the State of Texas Environmental Electronic Reporting System (STEERS) and thorough understanding of TCEQ and EPA regulations. Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to present effectively at all organizational levels. Proven ability to multitask while meeting deadlines in a dynamic environment. Excellent planning, writing, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Networking aptitude and the ability to engage with regulatory agencies and the public professionally.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred qualifications that would enhance your candidacy include: Familiarity with the SAP system for environmental reporting and tracking. Experience working with Stackvision and Environmental Management Systems (EMS). Proficiency in drafting and reviewing comprehensive environmental procedures and operational manuals.
